EDO Performance & Tomioka Racing 2015 WRX
2015 WRX
With the release of the 2015 Subaru WRX and a major shift in Subaru’s design elements; automatic transmission option, equal length headers, and a CVT transmission, Tomioka Racing took on the challenge of researching and developing performance upgrades and balancing for the 2015 Subaru WRX. One of our customers agreed to allow us use of his car for R&D purposes for the next few months.
One of the first goals here at Tomioka Racing was to get a baseline reading of the 2015 WRX. We put the car on the dyno and did a few baseline runs. The car stock, made 191WHP and 224 ft/lb of torque at an AFR of 10.88 to 1. The base run showed a quick pick up in power and torque in the low RPMs (1000-3000), with peak power at 5800 RPM and peak torque at 3400 RPM. After getting a baseline we installed a Cobb Accessport V3 and reflashed the car with a Stage 1 OTS (off the shelf) map. Again the car was put on the dyno to see the difference with the Cobb Stage 1 Reflash. With the Stage 1 map, the car made 221WHP and 250 ft/lb of torque at an AFR of 10.88 to 1. With the Stage 1 map, the car saw faster spool up power with a drastic increase between 1000-3000 RPM but a slightly slower pick up in torque, with peak power at 5100 RPM and peak torque at 3600 RPM. With the use of the Cobb Accessport and Stage 1 map, the car saw an increase of 30WHP and 26 ft/lb of torque. EDO Performance Provides reflashes and tuning for the 2015 WRX, starting at $250.
Tomioka Racing plans to expand on the 2015 WRX platform, eventually producing parts and other support for this car. Check Back in the near future to see what has been done and what improvements have been made to this 2015 Subaru WRX.
